About Me
My name is Celia Diaz. I was born in Mexico and migrated to the United States in order to start school. I have always enjoyed school and have always been fascinated with learning new things. I graduated from Paramount High School in 1996 and went on to pursue a Nursing Career at California State University, Long Beach. After a couple years of being an instructional aide, I realized that my calling was in education. I received my B.A. in liberal studies in 2002 and my Teaching Credential in 2004. I have been a teacher ever since.
I have two boys and I have very high expectations for them; thus, I have very high expectations for my students as well. I feel a great responsibility for all my students. Each parent has entrusted the education and development of his/her child to me, and I take this trust seriously. Regardless of cultural or ethnic background or economic status, parents want the schools to teach academic content. Everyone has the right to an excellent education, and as an educator, I will help students attain that education. My role as a teacher in my students' lives is a significant one, and my beliefs are fundamental in creating my educational philosophy. I have great respect for every individual I teach.
I realize that life is full of challenges, but we should learn from those challenges. Learning is a life-long process. Our most important duty is to prepare our students to develop the necessary skills that will lead them to a productive and successful adulthood. I constantly challenge my students to reach new heights and to continually challenge themselves. However, the education of your child depends greatly on teamwork between you, your child and me. I am looking forward to working together with you and your child so that we can help him/her reach his/her full potential.
I realize that teaching is a profession which impacts the lives of so many people; thus, demands nothing less than my best efforts.
